What is a thru-coolant saw spacer?

A CSP spacer is a solid carbide ring that sits between two slitting saws on a RobbJack NAB-TC thru-coolant arbor. Coolant channels ground into both of its faces carry the arbor's coolant to the inside faces of ganged saws, so every saw in the stack is cooled the way the CF flanges cool the outer saws. Spacers are ground to any thickness from .002" to .250" in seven bore sizes, 3/8" to 1-1/4".

Gang slitting only works when every saw gets coolant. The NAB-TC arbor feeds coolant through its center and the CF carbide flanges carry it to the outer saw faces — a CSP spacer does the same job between the saws, with coolant channels on both faces.

Because the spacer sets the slot spacing, it is made to your dimension: any thickness from .002" to .250", ground to order and quoted at order. Solid carbide never wears, burrs, or scratches the saw, so the stack stays true run after run.

Why it wins

  • Solid carbide — no wear, no burrs, no scratched saws.
  • Thru-coolant channels on both faces feed the saws on either side.
  • Any thickness from .002" to .250" — the spacer sets your slot spacing.
  • Seven bores matching NAB-TC arbors and CF carbide flanges, 3/8" to 1-1/4".
  • Keep the total saw + spacer stack under 50% of the arbor's cap length.

Frequently asked

What thicknesses are CSP saw spacers available in?
Any thickness from .002" to .250", ground to order. The spacer sets the spacing between ganged saws, so it is made to your slot dimension rather than picked from a list.
Which arbor and flanges do CSP spacers fit?
Each of the seven CSP bores (3/8" to 1-1/4") matches the RobbJack NAB-TC thru-coolant arbor of the same bore and the CF solid carbide flange pair. Steel spacers ship with the arbor; carbide spacers are the recommended upgrade for gang slitting.
Why carbide instead of the steel spacers that come with the arbor?
Steel spacers wear, pick up burrs, and scratch the saw over repeated setups. Solid carbide spacers do none of that, so the clamping faces stay flat and the gang stays true — and CSP spacers carry thru-coolant channels on both faces, so every saw in the gang is cooled.
How do I order a CSP spacer?
Request a quote with the bore, the thickness you need and the quantity. The part number follows CSP-<bore>-<thickness>-<ports>; spacers are ground to order and quoted at order.
