RobbJack AB ultra-precision saw arbor showing ground shank and saw bearing journal with keyway flat

Ultra-precision screw-cap saw arbors for carbide slitting saws — inch AB and metric MSA lines, ground to tenths so thin carbide saws run true.

  • Inch AB line: eight arbors from AB-250 (1/4") to AB-1250 (1-1/4"), including a long-shank AB-1000-1 (1" arbor on a 1" x 5" shank)
  • Published cap-screw torque specs per size: AB-250 29 in-lb, AB-375 47 in-lb, AB-500 and AB-625 202 in-lb, AB-875 through AB-1000-1 415 in-lb, AB-1250 600 in-lb — screw and hex key included with every arbor
  • Metric MSA line: six arbors from MSA-05 (5 mm) to MSA-22 (22 mm) on 75-100 mm shanks, with metric screw torques from 11 in-lb (M3) to 180 in-lb (M6)
  • AB tolerances: inside diameter +.0001"/+.0003", shank diameter -.0001"/-.0003", cap diameter +.0000"/-.0002" — MSA holds inside diameter concentric to shank within .005 mm
  • Total thickness of saws/spacers should not exceed 50% of cap length; arbor caps with longer cap length are available (excludes metric)
  • RobbJack arbors are the tightest tolerances in the industry and hold less than .0002" runout

About this series

AB Ultra-Precision Saw Arbors

Ultra-precision arbors for carbide slitting saws

RobbJack AB saw arbors are ultra-precision arbors for carbide slitting saws, ground to the tightest tolerances in the industry to solve many of the problems associated with using carbide slitting saws, including runout and slippage. Each arbor includes a flat-head or socket-head cap screw, published torque specs, and the matching hex key. AB arbors generally allow a deeper proper maximum depth of cut than NAB arbors for a given saw size.

  • Tightest tolerances in the industry
  • Includes cap screw and hex key sized to the arbor
  • Published torque specs for each size
  • Standard and extended-length replacement caps (CP/XCP) available
  • Inside diameter held +.0001/+.0003

Sizes 1/4" through 1-1/4" (including 1" AB-1000-1). Uses CAPS (CP-AB / XCP-AB) replacement caps and steel FLANGES for precision slitting saw applications.
