RobbJack HM Series multi-flute 45-degree helix die/mold end mill with AlTiN coating

Multi-flute (4–10 flute) 45° helix die/mold finishers — the best tool for open areas of floors and walls in hardened steels.

  • Multi-flute Tuffy grade end mills with 45° helix, AlTiN coated — flute count scales with diameter: 4 flutes at 1/8"–3/16", 6 flutes at 1/4"–5/8", 8 flutes at 3/4", 10 flutes at 1" (metric 3–25 mm mirrors this)
  • The guide's pick as the best tool for open areas of floors and walls — for tight areas like helical bores or tight corners use the TM/MTM Series
  • Two tip styles: Style A (necked tip with 15° blend angle, on the 1/8"–3/16" and 3–4 mm sizes) and Style C (cutting diameter = shank diameter, 1/4"–1" and 5–25 mm)
  • Corner radius on every size, from .015 (1/8") to .06 (3/4"–1"); metric 0.4–1.5 mm
  • Rated for steels at 40, 50, and 64 HRc — high-performance roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing of side walls; run dry, cold air, or spray mist with air or mist above 40 HRc
  • Profiling guidance: 1 × diameter axial depth with radial width 5% of diameter at 30–50 HRc and 2% at 50–60 HRc; facing/floor finishing at 2% of diameter axial depth and 25% radial width
  • Published speeds & feeds per tool: HM-402-04 (1/8") 17,000–20,000 RPM at 0.0008–0.001 CLPT in 30–40 HRc down to HM-102-32 (1") 1,000–1,700 RPM at 0.0024–0.0049 in 50–60 HRc
  • Use climb milling for better finish and longer tool life; engage by helical interpolation or entering from off the part
  • Special draft angles (blend angle), necked shanks, diameters, lengths, and corner radii available on a make-to-order basis
  • Tolerances: cutting dia −.001/−.002, shank −.0001/−.0002, flute length +.060/−.000 (MHM: cutting dia −.025/−.050 mm)

About this series

MHM Series Multi-Flute Die/Mold End Mills (Metric)

Metric multi-flute Tuffy corner-radius for open floors and walls.

The MHM Series is the metric version of RobbJack's Tuffy-grade multi-flute (4, 6, 8, and 10 flute), 45 degree helix corner-radius die/mold end mill, AlTiN-coated for hardened materials. Available in styles A and C with metric corner radii, cutting diameters 3mm to 25mm. Best used for open areas of floors and walls; for tight areas use the TM/MTM Series.

  • 4, 6, 8, and 10 flute corner-radius design, 45 degree helix, metric (3mm-25mm)
  • Tuffy grade carbide, AlTiN coated
  • Styles A and C with metric corner radii

Hardened materials up to 64 HRc. Dry, Cold Air, or Spray Mist; air or mist coolant above 40 HRc.

Best for

  • Metric open-area floor and wall machining in die/mold work
